H. VOGEMANN of Hamburg are pleased to announce the order for twelve modern, shallow drafted 35,000 mt dwat Handysize Bulkcarriers from ABGShipyard of India.
27 SEP 2007
Delivery will start in early 2010 in quarterly intervals. Negotiations between Vogemann and ABG trace back to 2006 under the consultancy of Hamburg based shipbroker M. Olivier Felter. The design was jointly developed. All twelve units will be managed from Hamburg and participate in the Vogemann Handysize Revenue Pool.

Mr. Udo Wiese, Managing Director of the H. Vogemann group comments: With ABG we have joined forces with a first class shipyard. Not least because of the excellent cooperation and their expertise we are already considering further new building projects with our friends from India. In view of our very positive market outlook especially in the Handysize segment we are constantly looking for opportunities for further fleet expansion. Along with our newbuilding program with Namura, GSI and now ABG we continue our activities in the second hand market.

H. Vogemann, established in Hamburg since 1886 currently controls a modern young drybulk fleet of 6 Capsize, 7 Panamax and 6 Handysizevessels with a total capacity of over 1.5million mt deadweight. Earlier this year the company ordered a 176.000 dwat Capesizebulkcarrier with early delivery in November 2008 from Namura Shipyard, Japan. In 2006 H. Vogemann placed an order at GSI, China for two 38.500 dwat Producttankers with delivery in second half 2009. As shipmanagers and chartering brokers they are one of the leading addresses in drybulkshipping in Germany.
